Guillermo Riestra, DPM was born in Manhattan, NY but was raised in New Jersey. He went to College at Montclair State University in New Jersey and graduated with a Major in Biology, Minor in Philosophy. He later went to Harlem in New York where he graduated with a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies in Biological and Physical Sciences. After, he continued to stay in Halem to attend New York College of Podiatric Medicine. During his time at NYCPM he helped students as a tutor and Teacher Assistant. He was a Student Ambassador for the school to promote podiatric health to the community of Harlem and help with recruitment for the profession. He was an active member in multiple clubs and received theĀ APMA Auxiliary Antoinette Alfidi Memorial Scholarship. He was recognized by NYCPM Podopediatrics department and received the Dr. Elizabeth H. Roberts Award for Excellence and Empathy in Podopediatrics.
Dr. Riestra graduated as Chief resident from his three year surgical residency in 2024 at RWJBH Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ. He is highly trained in Foot and Ankle Surgery which includes: diabetic wound care, diabetic limb salvage, trauma, minimally invasive surgical techniques, sports medicine, performance orthotics, reconstructive surgery andĀ total ankle replacements.
Dr. Riestra is passionate about serving the community, and strives to give proper non-surgical and surgical treatment options in podiatric care. In addition he is fluent in Spanish.
